Infectious Disease Core Facility
We provide research facilities and technical services in the field of prevention and treatment of infectious diseases that are related to people's life and health, and assist the development of related biotechnology and medical industries.
The Infectious Disease Research P2/AP2 (BSL-2/ABSL-2) laboratory belongs to EIDD and is the unit responsible for conducting infectious disease research works on RG2/RG3 biological agents. Currently, our research team focuses on several critical and epidemic RG2 pathogens, such as seasonal influenza virus, seasonal human coronavirus (hCoV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), enterovirus, dengue virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, and other common zoonotic or human pathogens. These emerging infectious diseases result in the illness of gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, skin, nervous system, or genitourinary tract, and may cause mild-to-severe human health threats.
